Well today I had big plans to get up early and head out to get that Museum pass I keep mentioning. Well I did wake up by 10, had a shower, got dressed and was ready to go before 12. Then I sat here. Watched some tv, played online for awhile and really did absolutely nothing for 4 hours. lol At 4pm I finally thought I better get my butt in gear and get that pass.
I headed out and was at the bus station by 4:30. I caught the first bus I seen that was heading down to the Uffizi Gallery (the museum where they sell the passes). I got on this bus (which sat about 10, maybe 15 people) and we were on our way. Now when I first got on the bus I asked the driver if it went to the Uffizi and he said yes. Ok, great I thought. I had my map though, just in case something went wrong. I was only on the bus for about 10min and I seen the Ponte Vecchio bridge. Across from that was the Uffizi. I didn't think to get off though and just walk across the bridge because the driver specifically said yes to me when I asked if the bus went to the Uffizi. Anyway, needless to say, I rode the bus all over the opposite of Florence. It was nice to see but ended up taking about 1/2 hour. Then we pulled up to this Piazza and the driver stopped, turned off the bus and got off. I then looked behind me and realized that I was the only one on the bus. lol I literally laughed out loud at this point because I new I had screwed up and should have gotten off at the bridge.
Then the other driver who was standing out smoking with my bus driver came on the bus and started talking to me. He asked where I wanted to go. I told him and he told me that I should have gotten off at the bridge (yup, figured that one out already). Then he told me I had to get off of this bus and get on the one that parked right in front of my bus. So I climbed on and my original bus driver got on and we started going again. it was super weird. Why did we change buses? Seemed like no reason to me. Anyway, we headed out and we finally came to the bridge again. I then got off and walked to the Uffizi where I was promptly told that the museum closed at 5pm for ticket sales (it was about 5:45). LOL
So I proceeded to walk back to the station and hit up McD's for supper. They have a new burger in right now called Pollo, Bacon, Cipolla (chicken/bacon/onion). It was super good. I will totally have that one again sometime. So Yummy! someone should tell the McD's back home to cook up one of those bad boys....it would totally sell. :)
Anyway, so tomorrow I will get up at a decent time and actually leave the house before noon. I learned my lesson yet again today. ;) Also, dad was telling me that there is a huge lottery going on in Italy right now that is up to over 149million euros. I'm going to try to get in on that action as well. Isn't it kinda sad though that I learn Italian news from Canada? ;)
